The product itself is great and very useful if you are a soy-intolerant vegetarian (since this contains more wheat gluten than soy protein, and, in a current vegetarian world dominated by legume-based protein because of the mindless "gluten-free" craze, finding gluten-based meat substitutes can be quite difficult). That said, Loma Linda has, over the past few years, not only more than DOUBLED the price per can of Tender Bits, but they've also reduced the can size significantly (from 19oz to 15oz). Normally, I'd chalk it up to those detestable Amazon scalpers who line their pockets by unscrupulously preying on the dietary needs of those with medical issues who live in rural areas with little food variety, but no, I purchased direct from Loma Linda's Amazon shop. Their greed is the only cause here. To make matters worse, they've gone out of their way to alienate vegetarians like me by changing a bunch of their products that previous contained easy-to-digest gluten with hard-to-digest soy just to appeal to the single-digit-percentage of people with wheat allergies. I don't mind them providing some gluten-free alternatives, but I do mind them getting rid of the gluten-based options for those of us who need them. Even worse, hiking up the price of the gluten-based alternatives and slashing the can size just to increase their profits at our expense is utterly reprehensible. (In other words, they are just another soulless corporation looking to make an easy profit off the pandemic by hurting the very people who rely on the food they make.) If their sales drop, they have only themselves and their stupid greed to blame.
